Night of Warmth: Still Glowing

The first annual Night of Warmth took place on Saturday, February 25.  It has been two days and I can’t stop talking about it.  Where to begin???  The group of volunteers that put this event together were absolutely amazing.  They took care of every detail.

Criativa Catering provided a beautiful array of appetizers.  Our band, Going Out Strong, ROCKED!  As someone who attends events for a career, I have to say, I was impressed.  And the space…just beautiful.  The team worked so hard to literally make the room glow.

At the end of the evening I was able to help hand out favors to all of those who attended.  Every person (seriously every  one of them) thanked me for the event and said they were looking forward to coming back next year AND bringing friends.

We received over 140 donations for the silent and live auctions, ranging from restaurant gift cards to trips to D.C. and a weekend in Cincinnati.  I, the lucky winner of the D.C. package, am very excited about taking my first trip to the capital.

Now what you really want to know.  Did we make any moneyto help the children of Ethiopia?  YEP!  You helped us raise over $17,000. Much of that money, $5,000, will help the girls at Children’s Heaven continue the feeding program that was started in 2010.

Thank you Paige for inspiring us all.  Thank you to Emily, Abbie, Ali, Alex, Katie & Meggann for making this all happen.  And thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated and attended the event.

Mark your calendars for our 2nd annual Night of Warmth February 23, 2012.
