Mahalo is the Hawaiian word for thank you. This weekend we celebrated at our home in Hawaiian style. At this past years Lights of Hope Auction my husband and I donated a Hawaiian Luau as one of the oral auction items. Much to our shock and dismay there was a bidding frenzy and it sold for nearly $5000. The “winners” generosity has provided clean drinking water for a village in Ethiopia, helped provide meals for girls at Children’s Heaven and the start of building a orphanage in Southern Ethiopia and much much more. These “luau winners” who graciously donated their money for the item were childhood and dear dear friends of ours. Saturday night our backyard was transformed into a tiki lounge. Twenty four guests dined on traditional hawaiian food, sipped on Hawaiian drinks, showed us their limbo moves, hula danced and wore traditional leis shipped in from Kona. Thank you to our dear friends who make us humble and thankful for people like you who make a difference in Ethiopia orphans. We love you . Thank you to the Paper Rabbit Designs for donating the event invitations, and to Lei orders for giving us a shipping discount on the beautiful leis.
A forever thankful friend…Kim also known as Kimipele
