At Lights of Hope 2010 we had so many gracious donors. From vacation homes, jewelry, wine parties, concerts and so much more.
This past weekend two of the auction items were enjoyed by several guests. As we said this weekend, “it keeps going and going.
Friday evening took us to K&M Wines. Located at Alchemy Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains about 25 miles South of Portland. This auction item was purchased in the live auction. It was a dinner party and wine tasting for 10 adults. We were wined and dined in amazing style feasting on seafood Paella and sipping on Pinot Noir & Chardonnay. The weather was beautiful and the vineyard picturestic. Thank you to Ken & Mauro for your gracious donation to Lights of Hope.
Saturday night was a hot 98 degrees in Portland. Forty guests gathered at EOR Board Member Lauren’s home for a great evening of dinner and music by the improv band Canoofle. “Upbeat and a little crazy” “the true spirit of improv” “carnival-like appeal” “impressively, singers freestyle lyrics” are just a few phrases that describe this band. It’s a 100% improvised music. They asked guests for song titles and then put them to words. Many laughs were enjoyed by all. Some guests couldn’t take the heat so hit the pool and listened to the concert from the cool water. Can’t wait to hear what the band comes up with for next year. Thank you to the band for a great evening and lots of laughs.
Each donation to Lights of Hope has made a huge impact on many children in Ethiopia. Thank you to all the donors, the guests who purchased items and to all of you who are making a difference. Next year I have a feeling both of the above items will once again be huge hits when it comes to bidding.
